Easy Heat 6' Automatic Water Pipe Heating Cable, Freeze Protection. This 6-foot long heating cable is CSA and UL listed, and is designed for use with plastic or metal pipes. It has a self-regulating thermostat that activates heat only when needed, and heats to 7 watts per foot for a total of 42 watts or 35 amps. Suitable for commercial and residential metal or plastic water supply pipes vulnerable to freezing, it is approved for rigid plastic and metal pipe up to 1-1/2 inch diameter. The cable consists of tough XLP inner insulation, a continuous ground braid, and a weather-resistant PVC outer jacket. It keeps water flowing down to -40 degrees Fahrenheit and is UL Listed to Canadian Safety Standards and CSA certified when used in accordance with instructions on water-filled metal or plastic pipes. It is recommended to use HCA application tape or good quality electrical tape with a high-temperature rating of +176 degrees F.
